My wife has a new post

My wife has a new post. She has a great idea for this new year, and I'm going to try to help her accomplish it. I want and need her to help me do it too.
Anyway, check out sheesh-o-phlips blog. Follow the link below and check it out. See if you don't agree.

Blogging

My blogging has suffered lately. My high school class reunion (I won't tell you what one) is coming up next year, so a bunch of my classmates have joined facebook. I've been spending a lot of time there. I never really was a journaler. Anyway, I'll try to stop in and keep this thing going from time to time. I do still check it for comments and for the blogs I follow.
Merry CHRISTmas. Jesus is the Reason for the Season.
Jesus came to the earth as a baby on Christmas, lived, and then died as a sacrafice for us. So that we can come to know the Father. Give Jesus a gift this Christmas, ask him into your life.

Take care, Klang

The Rose Bowl and Other Things

Well USC beat UCLA. Therefore USC won the Pac-10 again and earned another trip to the Rose Bowl. They will play Penn State. We'll just have to wait and see how that goes.

My wife just posted to her blog. She brought up some stuff about her Christmases that I didn't even know, and we've been married 20 wonderful years. She really said some great stuff in it, so go check out sheesh-o-phlip's blog.

Remember, Jesus is the Reason for the Season. Not some fat dude in a red suit.

Have a great week, and Merry CHRISTmas!

Not much going on.

Well there hasn't been much going on, just the usual. We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner with family, but then it was off to work as usual. I don't get holidays off, so holidays are a normal routine for me.

USC won again. They didn't even allow Notre Dame to get a first down until the last play of the 3rd quarter. The players were upset that they even allowed that. 38-3 final score. Oregon State lost to Oregon, so if USC beats UCLA, then the Trojans win the Pac 10 again. The Rose Bowl again. Don't get me wrong, the Rose Bowl is a great bowl game, but the Big 10 is the opponent. It will be Penn State this year. I'm getting kind of tired playing the Big 10 schools. They just don't seem to be able to compete with USC. At least Penn State is a different one this time. I'm getting ahead of myself though. USC needs to get past UCLA first. Should be easy, but it's a rival, and UCLA plays big against USC. Go Trojans!

Have a great day, God Bless! Klang out

The Weekend

Well it was one of those weekends. Actually it wasn't bad, just busy. It started with my youngest daughter and her term paper that is due Monday. She had most of it ready, but had to write it. On top of that our printer is acting up. Then my wife had to check the term paper over. She just loves doing that, yeah right. But it is done now. Yeah!

Sunday, we missed church. The wife and oldest had been away at a conference Thursday and Friday, they were trying to recover. On top of that, it was a day to do college applications. That took most of the day, but it's done, and that was the last of them that she is going to submit. Yeah! She's already gotten one reply back from one school. She was accepted there, conditionally. She has to send transcripts and SAT scores yet, but my girl was accepted to a university. I'm so proud of her! I never really had any doubt that she would be, but to see the first acceptance letter is exciting for me. I only went to 1 year of community college, and never did any of this application stuff before. To my wife it's no big deal, because she graduated from a university. My education was in the U. S. Navy.

Anyway, USC won again. They looked terrible in the first half, but the second half they dominated. They were tied 17-17 at half time. The score was 45-23 at the end. The last 6 points for Stanford were on the last play of the game. (Again) Oh well. USC didn't drop in the BCS poll, but they didn't move up either. They need some help from some other teams. We'll just have to wait and see how it goes.

The Kings have been playing fairly well. Although they lost to the Ducks on Saturday.

Not much else to write about, you have a Blessed week.

Congrats Girls!

My youngest daughters volleyball team won the whole shootin' match last night. Congrats to them. They won the match in 3 games. It was very exciting. Then one of the parents, he owns a limo service, took the girls to a restaurant, in a limo. Some of the parents followed him, and we all had dinner.

Anyway, now the youngest can take a break and put more effort into her school work. Yeah!

Have a great day.

Done and over

Well the election is done and over. (Out here in California, some people can't except the outcome of certain things) I'm glad it's over. Not everything went the way I would have liked, but I will live with it because that's how we do things here in the US of A. We have the right to elect new leaders. And the transition of power happens peacefully. Thank you Lord for that. Please Lord be with our new President and guide his path.

Ok I guess now we can get back to important things, LOL.

USC won again this last Saturday. They only allowed Cal, 3 points. They have the best defense in college football. I hope they can keep it up. I just wish that Joe McKnight would learn how to hold onto the ball. I really think the Trojans could have scored another touchdown in that game had he not let the ball get stripped from him after his amazing run, but it seems every time he has a great run, he coughs up the ball. If I were on the coaching staff, I would just rotate Gable and Johnson the rest of the season. McKnight has got to learn some ball security. I know the coaches are working on it with him, I just wish he would take it to heart. Next up Stanford. We go to their house. We need to take it to them, and not let it be close. They are turning into a good team. One to look out for in the next few years. SC needs to remember what happened last year, and not let down. They need to keep it up the rest of the year. The D is doing great, but the O needs to get it going. Anyway Fight On!

The L.A. Kings have won a couple in a row. Good job. Keep it up.

The Dodgers made an offer to Manny. We'll see how that goes.

I guess that's about it for now. Have a great day.

I'm so ready

I'm so ready for this election to be over. Don't get me wrong. I'm praying that God will give his blessing to this country and that the right person will be elected. But the spiritual battle that has been waging all throughout the last few months has been enormous. I pray that God hasn't taken his blessing away from this country as I fear He has, because we sure don't deserve His blessing. We have turn our backs on Him. Case in point, the whole battle in California over prop 8. We shouldn't even have to fight this battle. Marriage is between one woman and one man period! No doubt, end of story. The backers of no on 8 have been running a smear and hate campaign all along. This "free" country of ours has been turned upside down by a few radicals. They have been using intimidation tactics, vandalism and the like. They tear down yes on 8 signs from yards and they even egged my pastors yard. They claim that we're discriminating, but can't see the discrimination in their own acts. This is a moral battle. A battle between the light and the dark. The no on 8 people all do their deeds at night. That should tell you which side is the dark. Join the Light and vote YES on 8.

Obama is a socialist. Pure and simple, but the people of this country are to blind to see. He'll give to the poor. I'm sorry, but get out and get a job. I know that jobs are scarce, but go work at Mc Donalds, or go dig ditches, do something with your life. Don't expect the government to give you something without having to work for it. Unfortunately that's what this country has come to. The Liberals giving handouts is tearing this great country of ours apart, and the people are to blind to see it.

Well it's election day, it will soon be over. I pray that God has not taken His blessing away from our country, but He has every right to do so. We've turned our back on Him as a country. I just pray that there are enough Christians out there praying that He takes mercy on us and blesses us once again.

Oh yeah USC won big this weekend. Another shutout. They dropped in the BCS polls though. Oh well. Fight On!

Not a big win

Well , USC won, but not big. 17 to 10. At least the defense kept them in the game. Arizona had been averaging 50 points a game. I guess that's why USC didn't drop in the BCS poll. That was a surprise.

Well that's it for now, Have a great week.

Nothing to say

I really don't have anything to say, but I thought I'd better post something.

USC beat Washington State 69 to 0 last Saturday. It should have been 70 to 0, but WSU blocked a PAT. That's 2 shutouts in a row for USC. That hasn't been done by them since the 70's. I doubt that they will pull off another one though. They travel to Arizona to take on the Wildcats this Saturday. They're going to be tougher that WSU. USC is #5 in the first BCS poll. Hopefully some of the teams ahead of them will lose, and SC can move up. We're shooting for 1 or 2. Fight on!

Dodgers Gone :(

Well the Dodgers are gone. Congrats to the Phillies.

It hasn't been a good day. Came to work and found out I have to work overtime tomorrow. I'm really tired of working OT. I need a break. I'm getting run down. I guess I should be happy that I have a good job, especially in these bad economic times, but if you knew what we have been going through here at work, being shorthanded, you'd understand where I'm coming from. We need to recruit more Klingons to the Defence Force, get them trained and running the ship.

Anyway, friends are coming over this weekend, after a funeral. Not sure if we're going to the funeral or not. Then there is a USC game sometime on Saturday. I have to check when that is. I missed the game last week due to the marriage retreat, but I'm not complaining. That retreat was great. Some great stuff. You can go to the Love and Respect blog, down at the bottom of my blog page. It's one of the "blogs I follow".

Well that's about it for now, Klang out.

LA Kings

YES! the LA Kings beat the Ducks last night, 6 to 3. It was their first meeting of the season, and the Kings won. I don't know how many times this will happen, or even if it will happen again this year, but as of right now, the Kings are up on the Ducks. And I'm happy because of it. I'm NOT a Ducks fan. I'm a Kings fan. Even though the Kings are the 3rd youngest team in the NHL, and are not expected to do very well, I will still be a Kings fan.

The Dodgers play tonight. It's a must win situation for them. If they lose, they are done. Go Dodgers.

And USC plays Saturday. Here's hoping that 1,2,3,4, & 5 lose and the Trojans are #1 again. At least that they make it to the National Championship game this year. That would be fantastic. They have to do their part though and win out the rest of the season. Fight On!

That's it for now, Klang out.

Dodger Blues

Well it looks like the Dodgers aren't going to make it to the World Series. They lost at home to the Phillies last night. They are down 3 games to 1. The Phillies only need one more win to eliminate the Boys in Blue. Who knows, maybe there will be a miracle and they will pull it out, but that means they will have to win the rest of the games. Go Dodger Blue!

Also, I just want to say how Blessed I am by my family. They all had yesterday off due to Columbus Day. The girls cooked dinner, and they all got out and did the yard work for me. They did a great job too.

I don't often tell them, but I want to make it public on this blog, that I love my girls very much. All my girls, my wife included, She's great! Love ya sheesh-o-phlip!

Well that's about it for this session of rambling.

Good weekend

Well USC won this weekend, and 1,3&4 all lost. Yes! The Dodgers won on Sunday, Yes! And my wife and I went to a marriage conference put on by our church on Saturday. It was a great conference! We watched the Love & Respect videos. WOW! I recommend these DVD's to EVERYONE, Christian or not. There is some great info in there about how to treat you spouse, and why women think the way they do, and why men think the way they do. We're different, if you haven't figured that out yet. (And even if you have) Check this out online. http://www.loveandrespect.com This info is great even if you aren't married. Please check it out. The leaders even have a blog. http://emersonandsarah.blogspot.com

Angels Gone

Sorry all you Angel fans. I would have liked to see the Angels go further (well I don't know, I'm still kinda up in the air about that one. We Dodger fans have had to endure a lot from the Angel fans for a while now. It's kinda nice to be on the other end again.) Hopefully the Dodgers will win it all. It's going to be a tough road though.

Have a great day.

Better

Well the weekend turned out better than expected. My friend still has her situation to deal with, but she is letting God be in control of the situation. Sometimes that's a lot easier said than done. We just need to have Faith that He IS in control, and allow Him to take care of the situation. We need to place Him on the throne of our lives and take ourselves down off of that throne. It's a hard one, and I'm not the best example of doing that, so she and I can both use any and all prayers toward keeping our eyes on Jesus. Thanks.

Now on the USC Football, and Dodger Baseball. Yes! USC beat the Oregon Ducks this weekend. It started out ugly, but the Trojans finally got their act together and looked like the team they can be. They even moved up one spot in the polls to #8. Fight On!

The Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 3-1 to move on to the National League Finals. Yes! The "worst" team in the National League playoffs as far as records go, beat the "best" team in the playoffs (As far as records go) Hopefully this will give the Dodgers some confidence and momentum, and they will win the next series. They now have to take on the Philadelphia Phillies. Go Dodger Blue!

Hockey season starts this week too. My team is perpetually in a rebuilding year, so we'll see how they do. I don't expect much, but I'm not a "fair weather" fan. Go LA Kings! I don't change teams just because they are doing better than another one. (Anaheim Ducks, and Angel's fans, Not all, but there are some that blow with the wind, and you know who you are. If you've been an Angel's fan or a Duck's fan, and stuck with your team through it all, this is not you.) Don't get me wrong. I root for the Angel's too, but the Dodgers are my team. I'm really not an American League fan. Not a fan of the DH in the MLB. I like the fact the a manager has to think in the National League. "Do I keep the pitcher that is doing great in, or do I pull him for a pinch hitter" That kind of thinking. It's strategy, and I don't think an American League manager has to think as much as a National League manager. One sport I really don't like is Basketball, sorry guys, just not my thing. Oh well enough of what I think, it doesn't matter anyway.

Have a great week, Klang

Rough Weekend

It's already a rough weekend and it just started. Got some troubling news about a friend and her situation. It really saddened my heart. Hopefully it will resolve itself in a few weeks. We're praying. Her blog is on my list if you want to check it out. It's Ibeshell. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. HANG IN THERE SIS!

As for the rest of the weekend.... The USC game and the Dodger game are at the same time, so the last channel feature on the remote is going to be getting a workout. Fight On! SC and Go Dodger Blue!

Up 2-0

Yes the Dodgers won again tonight. They're up 2 games to none in the best of 5 series. The next 2 games are at Dodger Stadium. Go Blue!

Go Blue!

That's Dodger Blue for those of you that were thinking Michigan. I'm not a Michigan Wolverines fan. Remember, I'm a USC Trojans fan.

I'm a Dodger fan too, and the Dodgers won the first game of the playoffs against the Cubs at Wrigley. YES!!! Wow, to be a Dodger fan and see them win a playoff game. It feels great! The Dodgers have (up until this game) only won 1 playoff game in the last 20 years. So this is a big deal for us. Now the Dodgers need to keep up the pressure and win again today. Then go home up 2 games to none. We can only hope. The Cubs are a good team, so it's going to be tough to do.

Went to my youngest daughters volleyball game tonight. This is the first year she has ever played volleyball, and she made the team. She doesn't play much, but with practice, she'll get better. I'm proud of her though, she made the team.

My other daughter (Phoenix Phlyer) is getting ready to apply to colleges. (Yippy!, how are we going to pay for that?) I'm really proud of her too. She's writing a book, and wants to major in English. Then be an English teacher. To help others to learn, to me that is very noble.

My wife is writing a story on her blog. (Sheesh-o-Phlip....) It has started out great, and I've told her that she needs to write a fantasy novel. Check it out.

Well that's about it for now. Have a great day, and Go Dodger Blue!

#9

Well at least USC is still in the top 10. Wow what a weekend for the top 25. Lots of losses, so it wasn't just USC. :)

Had an ok weekend, Bible study on Friday night, went and picked apples with the family on Saturday. The uneven ground caused problems for the body though, and I stayed home from church again. Sorry God!

I really need a break from work. To much overtime for the last 6 months. Taking it's toll on me and my family.

That's about it...... Take care

Not #1 anymore

Wow what a HUGE disappointment! USC LOST tonight against Oregon State 21-27. USC looked terrible in the 1st half. I'm still emotionally spent. The men of Troy aren't going to be #1 any more, and the hopes of a national championship just went down the toilet.

On top of that, my bank failed today. Oh boy.

At least the Dodgers clinched the NL West today. Now they just have to win some playoff games. Hopefully all of them.

Through it all God is still in charge, so what the heck am I complaining about.

Have a great day, Klang

A friend from church...

A friend from church has started a blog. It's good to have friends here. I'm still not really into this, or into journaling. I'm not really one to let myself open up to people very much. I did let her know about this and my daughters blog though. Even though there really isn't any "deep" stuff on here. She, and anyone else, will learn, and know, more about me in person than they would from my blog.

I guess I really don't have anything else to say right now. Have a great day.

The Weekend

Well there's no USC game this weekend, but we are having friends over, so that makes up for it. It should be a nice relaxing weekend, I hope. I need one of those.

Work has been a lot of 12 hour shifts lately. (Almost 3 days of the week, for the last 6 months. With a few weeks off for vacation.) It looks like the end is finally in sight, but I'm going to miss the extra money. There's always a trade-off isn't there. It's going to be tough going on the money front for a while. This economy sucks! Thank God! That I have a job though.

Enough of my ranting, have a great weekend.

35 to 3

Wow! What can I say. USC dominated Ohio St. 35 to 3. USC's defense was OUTSTANDING! Now the Trojan's just need to do that the rest of the season, and we're talking National Championship!

Well that's my rant for now. Fight On!

Stuff

Well, I let my daughter sign up for a Blog. I'll just have to see how it goes now. I got some good advice from another blogger here, so that helped. Thanks

My other daughter made the Volleyball team at her school, so we're excited about that.

That's about it for now.

Klang

I guess I should let everyone know why Klang is the name I use for this blog. First off, I'm a first time blogger. I don't know how much I'll even use the account. As I said in my last blog, I'm checking out the blog to see how safe it is for my daughter to use. She has a teacher that wants her to have a blog for her journalism class.

Anyway, back to Klang. There really isn't much to it. I like Star Trek, and the Klingons are my favorite aliens. Not the Klingons of TOS, but the Klingons that are allies of the Federation. My wife and I were goofing around one day calling each other silly names, she called me something that I can't even remember now, but I said no that would be Klang of Kronos. It stuck. That's really about it, that simple.

Well now you know where the name came from. Have fun

Klang

My first blog

I really don't have much to say. I'm just here to check out the service for my daughter. I want to make sure it is safe for her to use.
